Zipp Rear hub bearing spacer

Decided to replace the bearings on my Zipp 404 hub before next weekend - Our LBS did it last year, but it never felt quite right (it kept on tightening up with the skewer), so this time I decided to do it myself.  Here's what I found as a spacer between the drive side bearing, and the freewheel bearing and pictures of the damage it caused.  I'm not a Zipp expert so this could well be OEM, but I seriously doubt it.  Does anyone perhaps have a pic of the correct spacer - or at least some dimensions for me so that I can quickly turn one up?

Thanks

Well I'm guessing the OEM part bears on the inner bearing races, which are in turn supported buy the tubes inside the hub and freewheel body - standard practice - but in this case, yup, the circlip was pressing on the ball-cage so at some stage it probably would have seized the bearing - possibly after 180kms in the nice sea air!

I am sure the Zipp spacer is less than 1mm (looks to be about 0.3mm).  The AMC road hub has one about the same size.

If memory serves, I think it's a 0.25mm spacer between the hub and freewheel. Might depend on year/model.

it's a 2007 182-hub running Campag 10sp. I was also under the impression that the spacer was 0.25mm, but there was a forum thread that I picked up in the UK which mentioned 1mm. In the end, I used 1mm, and the body is nice and flush with the hub. As a check, I also used some engineers blue on the pawls to check how they were engaging on the ratchet teeth, and they are pretty much 100%.

Interesting, I got some NSK bearings from the local Bearing Man, and they were't exactly cheap - about R120 each. So maybe our LBS aren't ripping us off as much as we think....
