So I just entered the second round halfie...Here's to hoping that we actually end up getting a full 40kays in this time round.. :whistling:  ( I will be mighty miffed if we get shafted again, what with price of petrol and all..)

Also, STILL no route profile yet with 9 days to go??It seems this one is going to be a surprise!

Or maybe they are thinking that if there is no profile or route beforehand then we wont know we didn't do the intended route?

Also been keeping my eye on that. Didn't do previous one but entered this one. Lack of info is concerning... where do we register for example?

You Capies are way to eager.

We usually get the final race profiles the week before the race as the final route changes constantly up until the final days before the race.

Now chill, have a glass of wine and drive slow in the fast lane  :whistling:

Just hang 10 guys did you not learn anything from the previous event i.e. Helderberg

1. Permission from land owners still need be agreed upon for Grabouw

2. Same crew running the same series up in Jhb so as you can imagine lots of travelling, etc. & thefore can't be bothered to keep us updated every 5mins but rest assured if we don't ask the questions in this thread we'll be blasted for being fast asleep & get labeled "Slaapstad" & other names. Just go check previous thread of Helderberg.

Now I would be remiss to say that normally the above highlighted bit only occurs to cars bearing the dreaded GP suffix on their license plates down here in the fairest Cape...

but as for the glass of wine bit, I wholeheartedly concur...The ONLY time a Capetonian drives slow in the fast lane is on the way home from a wine tasting session...

Ag please get over it. It is the first time they presenting the series in Cape town so there will be a few niggles at first. The few years that they have been presenting the series in Gauteng i cant fault it is sold out months in advanced. I dont agree with people calling you slaapstad it is your rite to ask questions but it is ridiculous that you expect to be updated every 5 minutes.

Clearly you did not do the Helderberg.

Though it would be nice to know, in advance, to train for 900m of climbing or 1900m. Since most people here knows Grabouw, 900m of climbing does sound rather iffie for a 70km race in Grabouw. So excuse us for being inquisitive regarding the route profile on the back of the Helderberg.

From my experience it is 900m of ascent and that is just from the website not that i have riden in Grabouw the previous races that i did from the trailseeker the website ascents were always right. The Nissan trailseeker series targets beginners and intermediate riders not that i am saying you are one of the 2 but that is who they are targeting that is why i say it is 900m. But i could also be wrong

In Grabouw 900m of climbing is like going for a lap around the dam. I'm curious to see the course they plan to use.

I am starting to appreciate all my murderous hill repeats at Dorstberg and the Telkom Mast at Contermans...I have not ridden Grabouw yet, but from what I am reading here, it sounds like a mo3rse lot of climbing...  My power to weight ratio is as near to nought as possible, since I well and truly fall into the buffalo category pushing the scale at 110kg...this is going to hurt...

I'm pushing the scale at 90 as well so I share your concern.

I did the recent TruCape 2015, man did I suffer. (It was on the back of a fishing week with mates though)

Most of the climbing was in the last half of the race.

It was long taxing climbs.

Even though I suffered, I thoroughly enjoyed the race and organisation (of the TruCape).

The scenery is just wow. :w00t:
