As mentioned before they are two separate companies.

I have seen fox(the shock guys) and fox racing clothing in the same store.

Had no idea the shock guys made bib shorts but they were there.

Exactly!  Looking the part instils confidence of some sort. Have you seen what those guys can do when they put their favourite fox jersey/baggies on?

Its like the TapOut shirt that ads instant muscle in the East Rand.

Fox apparel = Instant skills = Confidence.

Now that pisses me off. I bought a shirt, wore it out, but everyone laughed because my "guns" are like a .22

Next time take me with you. I speak east rand Dutchmen fluently(born and bred south-east Rand).

Oh I forgot to ad that part. You need to be able to say stuff like "PK" and "Do you even lift boet?"

The RS is just too prominent for someone just to have missed it, so it's probably not an "Oops, we missed it, sorry!" scenario.

That being said I do agree with the OP to a certain extent. Brands aren't segregated in consumers' heads. When you walk into a bank, you don't have a different perception of their home loans department and their credit card department. The service you get from either will add to your perrception and experience of the bank. Same applies here; whether it's clothing, suspension hardware, helmets or whatever, in my mind it's Fox.

To me this feels more like an internal politics issue. "If you don't cough up for half of the ad I'm using a RockShox". It probably wasn't deliberate, but a still a fail.

I don't think you get it. Fox Racing and Fox Racing Shox are 2 completely different companies that are owned by 2 very different corporations. They have absolutely no ties with each other, other than that the 2 people who started the initial companies are brothers. It can't be internal politics because it isn't the same company. They compete in different segments of the market.

I get it. My point is, despite being 2 different companies, there's still no segregation in consumers minds. It's the same brand. Fox. Whatever one company does affects the Fox brand, which directly affects the other company.

Maybe in your mind but clearly over the half the posters here know the difference so there is segregation in consumers minds. Or are we not consumers? Are we some sort of super human above consumer level? I know I'm not.

Edit: Lucky Twentieth Century merged with Fox otherwise us mere mortal consumers would really be confused if we were looking to watch something entertaining and something like The Long Ride came up when we were expecting 160mm travel.

Still, same brand, same logo. There will always be a link.

My mistake then. Different logos. The fact that you had to point it out does sort of speak to my view.

Be that as it may, I'll still be the odd one out seeing where the OP is coming from.

Couldn't see what the fuss was - looked like a Fox clothing ad.

The Hub debate is a bit esoteric as some of us are fundis on bikes and bike bits.

It's just a standard ad to the wider market and a talking point for the specialists.
