I wanted to shave my upper regions because I felt the hair caused more friction on long rides and the constant pulling makes my skin more tender. After doing this I looked opposite to the "wearing pants made of an Alsatian's fur" mentioned before so I had to go all the way down. It felt cooler in hot conditions, and it certainly helps with the occasional massage I get. I don't have masculine legs so cannot really say anything about showing off. I only shave during summer/peak season. In winter I put the fur coat back on. Comfort is my main consideration, but hey, if it gives you pleasure in some other way go for it!
