So as some may have seen in another thread I just finished this bike and took it for a test spin today ...... It rides lekker but for some reason it feels to me like the bar is too high .... Not wanting to cut the steerer for a few reasons would it make sense to run the stem 'negative'?

Take the spacers out and put them on the top to lower the stem. Also flip the stem around and run it negative. Get a flat bar. Get the handlebars as low as possible.

Would achieve the same end result so ja... flip the stem before cutting or much easier just play around with the spacers first before flipping ans oR cutting...

From the pic, if you flip it you'll probably end up getting it almost flat or at a slight negative angle.

Spacers first to do it bit by bit. You don't have to cut when repositioning spacers either

Just you :)

Flipping it will prob yield the biggest difference In height. So I'd do it in the line of 1 spacer 2 spacer, back at top (flipped) 1 sspacer 2 spacer

Kief, thanks captain! Will test the flipped stem at Thaba this afternoon, weather looks a tad inclement but hopefully improves .....

People will point and laugh at a negative angle stem with spacers. Will at least I will.

People point and laugh anyway, negative stem and spacers are the least of my problems
