Same price as Dialled, and we are a "bricks and mortar" retail store, so you can try them on!

For Impact VXi or Freerider VXi?

...cos there is quite a big price difference between them.

Where do you buy them patches? Thought about inporting but I wanted the after sale support as ive heard the new ones have had quality issues

The Sam Hills, Red Barons, and Maltese Falcons all came from CRC.

The first pair of Impact VXi came from www.bike-components.de (Germany)

The Freerider VXi and latest pair of Impact VXi came from www.probikeshop.com (France).

The trick with ProBikeShop is that shipping is pretty heavy (€40, but often delivered in 2-3 workng days). So unless you're placing a pretty big order it's not always worth it.

You have quite a collection! Do you find the impacts hot? They dont seem to have much ventilation. I will find out soon enough probably

I'm not one that really gets bothered by hot feet. I guess they are slightly on the warm side, but not so much that I have really noticed or can even compare to any other shoe.

will perhaps require a thread split, but first impressions of the Adidas Terrex Cross Trails:

  • sizing on point
  • snug fit
  • sole's alot stiffer than the last two generations of 5.10 freeriders.
  • slightly heavier than last generation Freeriders VXi. Weighed in at 443g with laces versus 412g.
  • look a lot more casual than 5.10s
  • sole still sticky to the finger  Classic Stealth rubber awesomeness!

Yet to ride em, but that's this weekend's mission. Maybe even find out if Skylar's Holes are watering holes or not ;)

Where did you get them? Also interested to see what you say after the first ride :)

Cap, if you say Mikka, and you're a size UK9, then curse you and Super_mil! They were all out of stock when I went online.

But at the same time my wallet thanks you. With a 3 week old pair of Impact VXi's I really didn't need new riding shoes, although they still look pretty cool!

guess i'm cursed then :P

There's a couple of noticable differences ito shoe construction between 5.10 impacts, freeriders, and the Adidas units, and to my mind, speaks to typical impact protection and overall robustness. Those observations will come out of the wash so to speak, but in the interim, keen to see how they feel ridden and walked up and down a few trails.

UK9 FTW

Have to say that after my initial fears of the online store being a scam, as I committed to paying for the shoes, Mikka were a great online store and super efficient.

I'll comment on the shoes when I actually ride in them (so when the rain stops here  :cursing:).

They also have the Adidas Terrex Solo which I've read other guys have used as bike shoes with good results.
