Weds night rides in Jo'burg

I moved jobs recently and am stuck in Rosebank come five o' clock, which stops me getting down South, or out to Kyalami, and even Modders is a pain that time of day.

 

Is there anything going on in town that's easy to get to e.g. Delta park?

There is usually a wednesday night race in Delta park - 1 hour plus the lap.

A mission to get to from Rosebank at  17:00 in the afternoon, unfortunately

 

The spruit is not too far from Rosebank, and you can use some of the quieter roads to get there? In summer there's enough daylight for a loop in Emmarentia and Alber't's farm while waiting for the traffic to calm down.

Joe, there are mortals doing the night racing there, not only supermen like Jules etc...

 

Great fun, need lights. I have not ridden the Saints route, keen to give it a try.

 

Will have to make a plan to get out there.

Know a few guys often do an evening Spruit ride out that side on Wednesdays, usually from Fratellis at around 6, though not sure how regular it is.

Thinking abut it, getting from Rosebank to aints may be challengingat 5pm.

 

However, the night racing starts a wee bit later at 6:30 I think

Thanks Bobbo - that looks worthwhile - getting there was actually a bit of a red herring as I live in Bedfordview.  It's more not wanting to ride by myself in there at night, though I do at a push.
