The bench mark has been set, Well Done Guys!!!

Chris Wolhuter is the winner of the first Cederberg 100miler! Well done, in a time of 6h27:16, followed closely by Charles McFall in 6h28:14 and Craig Boyes in 6h35:22.

Times are more or less the same as Amarider 100 miler for 1000m more climbing??

This is something else. It makes you feel so small at times, the views are incredible. Was it worth it? Definately.

Edit : I found it not too hard, actually pretty nice. Then again I studied it to death on Google Earth so I knew what was coming. Lots of people at the end said it was very hard. Best is to come ride it next year. I am not sure if Pieter will change the direction like on Transkaroo?

Was a fantastic ride, (will leave the race part out).

Discussion on pricing can be extended to all the logistics however it was well worth it. Rather than complain about the cost, go ride solo.

We booked in at Kaleo for the night and this was a real pleasure, accommodation excellent.

I completed in 9h20 and did the AMARider in 8h02, this ride was a lot harder from start to finish.

At 8am on Sunday morning wasn't sure I'd be back, but already the challenge is beckoning.

Waterpoints well stocked, scenery lovely and the change from the Cederberg to the Kouabokkeveld awesome.

Thank you to all the riders who made it memorable and to the organisers, Pieter and team who were always on hand and around the route.

Was more tough than expected. Lots of zinkplaat road and lots and lots of climbing.

However, the views and scenery were SPECTACULAR!!!!

This is a hard but very enjoyable ride.

Did not ride the AMARider 100 miler, but everyone who did said this was harder (probably more so for the midfield type of rider)

Waterpoints were ok, well stocked, but could be stocked with more "boerekos" at the later water points. However, nothing to complain about

The vibe at Kaleo afterwards was fantastic and the food was really good

I'm in for sure. Already booked leave for the Friday. Will the direction change like they do on Transkaroo? Doing my 5th of that too.

i doubt they will change direction already at least there has been no talk of it thus far. What was your take on the route, was it rof? Is it all public road or was there some private land/farm crossings too?

hang on hang on - details chaps ... this might be good training... start a 2016 thread ?

i think this thread wasn't too popular last time around so let's keep this one going instead?

Guess we will have to wait and see if they change the direction. They do that on the Transkaroo so they could also do it on this - same race director. The route is all public roads, and it is absolutely beautiful with tough but rewarding climbs.

I'd say the hardest part is just after the halfway point at 88km when you are in the dip of the valley at Mount Ceder. You then face a long climb to 99km when you enter the Kouebokkeveld for the final 60km.

Route : https://www.strava.com/activities/390471617 you can ride it at a fairly relaxed pace, I did and finished 25th out of 88. Took me just under 8h30 and I am so doing it again.
