Found My Chain with Missing roller

I had an annoying Jump/ Tick on my drive train - new Bike February 2015 (Giant Trance 2)

After a muddy race in Darling last weekend  I cleaned the chain thoroughly and found one of the small rollers in one link was gone!

Do I replace the whole chain or can I just go get a couple spare links and pins at my LBS

A quick link won't replace the roller. All it has is a pin to fit through the hollow part of the roller.

10sp or 11? I may have a spare couple of links (incl rollers) in my spares bag at home... You can just pop the roller in to the spot that's lost it, and use a quick-link to complete the chain again.

Alternatively - how is your chain? Can you afford to take a link out of it?

If the roller's fallen out anywhere other than the quick link, that chain is beyond dead.

If it's at the quicklink it's still suspect.

I have a box of spare links if you don't find something closer.

This is what my missing roller looks like below.

Have not done enough mileage I don't think to wear the chain.

I thought maybe I struck a rock on my chainring and split the roller?

It is a 10 speed bike

remove offending link, replace with new, ride your bike
