It's interesting news though, makes sense since SRAM own RockShox, so this would give Shimano an opportunity for a similar approach. Imagine the integration into XTR Di2!!

They're already integrating heavily with Fox though, so that wouldn't be the wisest.

I'm going with the SR Suntour buyout possibility. Biggest manufacturer of forks buys the manufacturer with the biggest heart (the way I see it)...

Remember what happened when Suntour started making Marzo dampers?

have you seen suntour's recent forks? i think they've moved on, yes?

Myles: I see that Shimano has listed many many suspension related patents despite its close collaboration with Fox. Maybe that warchest of IP coupled with the unfortunate situation surrounding Marzo gives them the ideal confluence of events to finally step out from behind Fox and go it alone.

When it comes to suspension, Shimano cannot go toe2toe with SRAM their arch rival as it were. they did try back in the day, and failed miserably by most accounts. Rebadging some marzo products would put them right back in the game. their reach in the OEM market would put marzo on many many more frames than is currently the case. It seems to make sense on many fronts.

But Giant also seems like another logical choice. they already make and spec everything else, right down to dropper posts and bottle cages. But forkless.

I haven't yet, should hopefully get a look at one next week though. Never been much of a fan, but if you reckon they'll change my mind...

I see what you did there...

Don't discount these suspension options as well, all available locally and competitively priced. Would put them up against any of the others -

- DVO Suspension

- X Fusion

- Formulae

- SR Suntour

I see needles got a lekker BOS goodies on his new bike.
