Do yourself a favour and read up on the new 2016 Stumpy FSR. It'll answer that question.

If you make a statement as emphatic as that, you should at least be able to give a one-liner answer other than "go read" to back it up...

not getting the point much?

I got the point perfectly, thanks. Plenty of people refer to articles where points are made and expanded upon far better than they are able to themselves.

He opened with a statement on the new Stumpjumer FSR, and prompted the OP to access reviews and write-ups online in order to provide context and further information on said bike. He need not go into it himself if he feels that someone else has already done so, and far better than he is able to - unless he himself is writing an opinion piece or review on the bike - which he isn't.

I was pleasantly surprised last weekend :-)

I thought that the Pyga's strong suite would be the decents. However, while out riding the bike impressed me most on the flats and climbing !

Reason being, I was expecting the bike to be good on the downs and technical, and it was superb, but it was allot better than expected on the flats and climbs!

Really stoked with the bike and can not wait for the next ride.

( ps. received a heap of compliments. bike is a real looker. picture does not do it justice :-)

Well I have read the articles, some of which say that the 2016 bike is more or less the Stumpjumer Evo 2015 in terms of geometry and set up.

Indeed, I bought a second-hand Pyga last week and after owning Athems, Stumpjumpers etc, and I can categorically state that this is MOST INSANE BIKE i have ever riden. Still can't get the smile off my face after caning down Jonkershoek on it over the weekend.

The bike is just superb, pure fun. You can study the geometry, you can play with the back-end to find it is as rigid as a downhil rig, you can read up about Pat's suspension etc etc. but only when you start flying down a track, far faster than you have on any other bike, does it all make sense.

And yes, it is beut to look at. More a rig than a bicycle.

Find myself in the same situation at the moment. Seemed to have killed another Giant frame. So my options, as I see them anyway, is to go frame only and sell the replacement Giant frame, apparently no more trance 29'er frames available in my size, and get a 110 frame new and build all my stuff on to that. Or sell all my stuff and get a Stumpie demo that I know of. Leaning towards the Pyga as I have been lusting after one since they where silver and it is easier to sell one item I imagine
