i had a good look at the race profile today...

then stage 2 & 3 looks okay and the you can maybe make up some time.

but' date=' then stage 4 with 150km in the legs that las ten you have a nasty climb again.

i think i'm gonna cry.Cry

Zoo  Stage 2 is fast with more than likely a tail wind. no problem there.

Stage 3 can be a female dog, as the climbs start gentel but are long. the get progressively steeper and shorter. In June the wind often turns after lunch so pray that it does this year once again. Stage 3 with a headwind is not nice.

Beware of any hill with a name.   Otto's Hoogte is a toughie but has a lovely down into town.

so basically what your are saying..... i'm gonna die... with just a little relief in stage 2.

Zoo Cookie if I finish Krem without issues you will not have a problem at all, remember to drink on route as it is important.

The secret to the Kremetart is not to see it as 175km of pain but rather 3 x 50km short races followed by a 25km shorter race.

Yes stages 1 and 2 have climbs but Stage 1 is only for the first 15km or so and then the rest is downhill or rolling. Stage 3 with the wind can be a pain so make sure you get in a bunch. Stage 4 is painful but the pain is short and you know that you have a cruise down to the finish after the hill.

You have plenty of time to recover after each stage so relax and enjoy it.

To put the following statement into perspective, my buddy thinks we are stupid cycling for 100 k's, but 175 is madness. Then he pops up with this chirp and I almost fell of my chair. seriousEmbarrassed

A friend of mine was reading IanJ's advice and said he should be a "suicide bomber recruitment officer"Confused. I asked why he said that. His response was:

He has such a nice way of sugar coating something really horribleLOLLOLLOL.

Sorry IanJEmbarrassed

Zoo Cookie, be careful of not going too hard on stage 2, as it will bite you on stage three.  Because of the flatness of stage 2 one easily go to fast on stage 2.  But I'm sure youl be fine.  Compared to the Panorama and Vasbyt, the Kremetart is a lot easier

I think the difference is whether you are racing or riding to finish and enjoy it.

Racing is a whole different ballgame and every stage can hurt but at least it's only for 50km then you have plenty of time to recover.

I don't think Zoo will have any problems with the Kremetart route Big%20smile.

Totally agree with you IanJ. I'm doing my 4th one this year and, for me, only stage one's climb is an issue because you are still cold. The rest of the race is not to bad, rolling hills like the Vasbyt. Can't stress it more, drink enough and eat a bit at the rest area's ( food is provided )BUT stay away from the pies at the end of stage one. They give you one hellova heartburn. smiley2.gif
