Tubeless newbie question: Can they seal 100% ?

After many years of riding with tubes+slime I decided to try tubeless. My wife's bike was in urgent need of new tyres, so I got her some Spez Groundcontrol 2Bliss tyres, jaffer tape, valves and Stan's. I did the conversion myself, the process went smoothly, no more time/effort than fitting a new tube and filling it with slime.

One small snag. With the tubes, I could leave the tyres for a month or so without topping up the air. The tubeless ones are loosing about .75 bar per week and I have to top them up with the floor pump virtually every time we ride.

Is this normal for tubeless setups? Or is it worth putting some more effort into trying to get them to seal better?

If you used good sealant they should lose less and less air as all the pinholes get blocked but probably never to the degree that a tube can hold air. On my tubeless setup I only need to add air every month or so.

pretty normal.  ive got the same tires.  the spez tires have quite thin sidewalls to keep the weight down so they tend to lose air quicker than others (i previously had schwalbes)

when washing my back tyre noticed bubbling ... seems air is escaping out the sidewall.

I did the put the bike on the side thing hoping the sealant will do its job. I also forsee it will require a pump before every ride but so far the front wheel seems to have settled.

pumped up the back tyre har - it did pop so think it wasn't seated properly initially.

will give it another week and see.

Thanks for all the replies. I read the first one ("its normal") and took the rest of the afternoon off from bike maintenance.

My own tyres are getting tired so I will look for tubeless ones for my bike too. If they seal better than my wife's did I will I go back and work on the her's again.

In the meantime, if I have to top up one set of tyres before we ride, I can just as well do two.
