So excited.  Will be our 4th (we are addicted).

And they have made it so much easier this year for people coming from Cape Town with shuttles etc.

Did my first B&B Descent last year and I have to say that in the rain Solly's Folly were a little scary in places. Awesome piece of trail though!

Can't wait for this year! Let's hope the weather plays along.

Ok so I have done some reading now. Anyone done this on a single speed? We are doing it this year. If you did what gears did you use? Many thanks!

I haven't, but there were a couple that did it last year. With climbs like Mike's Pass and spionkop, give yourself a bit of cadence.

Day 1 should be fine for single speed. Day 2 is a lot of climbing so that will hurt. Day 3 is a log tough climb at the beginning which ends in Mikes Pass (steep and slippery under rubber) but after that it is pretty flat and some really fun downhill.

Day 2 was in fact the venue for the SS world champs 2 years back.

Day 2 almost broke me 2 years ago..40 degrees , strong head wind and broken derailleur ..one of the toughest day on a bike

guys who rode speak in hushed tones about that day......people passing out while riding
