Sounds really good - Do you just pay on the day?

A few of us are keen on this entry:

- Day ElginMTB permit, ride and launch party spit braai: R160

Cheers

You can pay on the day and the day permit (R60) also applies. Alternatively you can purchase a year permit (R500) and get the remainder of 2015 for free, the permit is valid to 31st Dec 2016.

I am wanting to do the Paul Cluver / Oak Valley loop tomorrow. Does any know if it is well signposted? I know the Paul Cluver trails quite well, but don't know where the border crossings are.

Also where do you buy a permit? Any entrance?

Hi Donovan,

we bought the ticket at the Paul Cluver Estate gate. You pay R30 for Paul Cluver + R30 for Oak Valley. I stand to be corrected but I think that's the only place to buy.

You cross into Oak Valley over the fence. There are 2 or 3 fence crossings now. But proper ramps - no climbing like in Tygerberg :-)

We followed the black route. Nice trail - tough short climbs. Signage was good.

Hope that helps!

Cool! Thanks so much.

So how was the trail marked. We are going tomorrow, yes i know, 6 months after it was opened. We will be starting at OV and just wanted to make sure routes are marked well?

Not great, I must say. I know the area reasonably well so can find my way around. I just didnt know where the links between the two properties were. It was almost 6 months ago that I last rode there so it may have improved or gotten worse.
