Oops. Starting my slippery slide. All I can hope for is a top 10. Hope Whakim will regain the lead. He deserves something. Feel some sympathy for Tom D too.

Luck plays a big part of Fantasy cycling, and Snails certainly has the recipe for success and perhaps a bit of luck too.

Then the best of the rest also seem to have got it right - and it's a close fight to the end just like the Vuelta GC.

It's the guys at the other end of the table that either had poor luck, or picked the wrong team.

So the question is: I know the Tour was a bit skewed from reality (it is fantasy), but would you like to see this current format used for the Grand Tours next year (one format for all three)?

  • The White jersey will carry significantly less points that this year, as it is still part of the Tour;
  • Break points and wins plus most aggressive rider will contribute to bonus points, as will the jersey holder, and the person wearing it on the day;
  • The main points will come from GC, KOM and Sprint positions on a daily and overall basis. The bonus points will be there to hopefully micro separate everyone.

Send you suggestions so that the competition can be improved and ultimately reward luck, consistency and as close to reality as possible.

In the TDF.. yellow jersey is first and then white(priority). .so I think white should still earn a lot of points but just a bit less than yellow. And it's such a great competition to watch unfold.

The rest is great.

I would try make all the jerseys equal in points, that way you should have to pick a good mix of riders and not just young jersey and breakaway.

I would also keep the emphasis on the breakaways and finishing ahead of the peleton as that makes each stage exciting.

The bonus points obscure things a bit in my opinion but leave that to the masses for a vote.

I suppose it also depends on the route though, as the sprinters have not contributed much at all in the Vuelta like i had hoped.

we still have the Giro as a good test.

I think the most important thing is to keep people interested for as long as possible. Snails has nailed this one because he picked a damn good team, but then chaves and dan martin smoked the first week and he was out of sight!

substitutions are the best way to keep you in, but obviously make the admin load massive. (imagine if we could have put chaves in for nibbles on the first restday?)

I think if you load the gc points too much, then you get guys just picking all the favourites. that's boring. the TdF one this year was loaded towards white jersey riders, BUT it was the hard to pick breakaway guys who really pulled in the big points.

for me the best type of team selection criteria would have you need to select a mix of riders - ie. 3 on GC, 2 on white, 2 on sprints and 2 on KOM. if one of your GC guys scores on sprints/kom then it doesn't count. same thing your young riders don't count for GC etc etc.

another way would be to include UCI points. you have 2000 uci points to pick your team with. you could go valverde/froome/contador and some no name brands - or a mix of inbetween.

I had forgotten that I had Terpstra.. I actually chose him for 2 reasons.. those sagan type stages and breakaway points.. erm when I thought we would get breakaway points he would've scored me some bonus points [emoji5] I should really read competition rules..[emoji1] .

Terpstra is out. oepsie doepsie!

I have this creepy feeling of heavy breathing in my neck.. it's Shebeen and he is coming for my 2e spot.

ja. but only three stages left and we have lots of common picks..

down to your dumoulin vs my valverde/aru combination and your tinkoff vs my astana.

I'm still rooting for the dutchie to pull it off!
