Mark and Don finished 405 overall

They are nice guys and as far as i know Don hasnt ridden before they started to train for Epic

Mark raced during the early 90s, was one of the original Kona riders when Alf Close was bringing them in.

Just in repsect to the TV coverage. My personal opinion - Yes there should be coverage of the top guys to show the racing there, and these guys are the best in the world.  Good for sponsors, good for the event and it's future. . . But I feel that the other riders should also get some coverage as well.  After all, the event would be nothing without them.  There is more than enough drama within the so called "back markers".  And I believe some coverage of Mr and Mrs average would also go to show how tough the event really is and how good the top guys actually are.

Having said that, I certainly believe that Mr and Mrs average can't finish this event. . . every finisher of the ABSA Cape Epic is above average - well done guys, I felt priviledged to be able to watch you finish every stage and hopefully was able to encourage you all a bit.

new concept for reality TV.  GEt two biggest loser drop outs' date=' put them on bikes, enter them for the cape epic.  Let them train for a year.  Interview them weekly, as the suffer through the training.  Peice de Resistance will be coverage of them wheezing and whining there way through the Cape Epic, live (much like big brother).[/quote']

any two hubbers you can think of?

ME !! Smile ...we can even attach a camera to the helmet to watch all the fun ... might need to edit the sound track a wee bit tho

Kabous van der Westhuizen het gery, weet nie van Garvey.

Tian en Petrus was onder die top manne, baie goed gery.

Kabous was hier by ons rond, nog steeds vol spiere soos voorheen,

Daar naby Faan se Pa hulle se plaas het ons sulke moewiese klimme gehad, hy was so effens agter my en C50

Die volgende oomblik toe laat loop Kabous

"Dis sommer *** hierrie dat 'n mens so moet suffer".

Kon net lag.

Francois, you did a brilliant job, and glad to see you in the world of MTB... knew there was a reason I changed from doing Road racing work.....

I agree that all who rode were above average... guess thats my goal for next year, and I HOPE you will be there to bring me and Jan to the line on every stage. Wow, it gets pretty emotional when watching the back-markers.... and yes, I do agree that those okes do not get enough coverage either on TV or at the nightly awards during dinner.

Was thinking that the last team over the line, should line up with the Pros each stage start, and also qualify for a 'latern Rouge' jersey. They certainly would not be in the way of others, as it is only two of them.

Thanks Francois, we felt very much at home.
