Dislocated my shoulder the past weekend.

Feels a bit uncomfortable still but not really causing pain.

When can I start riding again?

Would like to get on the road bike at least this weekend if not MTB.

Anybody with past experience.

Will try the Wattbike at the gym tomorrow and I guess that will also give me an indication.

Not quite the same, but, my sister dislocated her elbow a few weeks back when coming off her MTB. Ok, she did a really good job (first time I have seen anyone in a cast after a dislocation) but she had the cast for 3 weeks and was told no riding for at least 4 weeks after the cast came off. From that, I'd have to assume that it would need a couple weeks at least.

immediately! what does the physio know in any event.

Each dislocation is different, so rather go see a physio who can refer you to an orthopedic surgeon if required to get the right answer. it can be anything from 4 weeks to 4 months.

Not sure which part of shoulder you dislocated but I dislocated my AC joint and was on an indoor trainer in 3 days and on the bike on the road about a week after that (rode with arm in a sling for the first few rides). Took a few months before pain was completely gone.

Just make sure that you don't end up with frozen shoulder so ask physio for some rehab exercises and stretches.

All dependant on the grade of dislocation. I had surgery and PRP injections. Six to eight weeks off the bike and plenty physio. Had my first ride on Saturday at the five week mark against Dr orders. It seemed fine, meaning the pain was no worse than usual.

Oooooooooooo frozen shoulder! Had that, not fun.... especially when it comes to the unfreezing part.
