Looking for a 31.6 down to 30.9 shim for giant post. Anyone know where i can get one.

I ended up having one made. Needed a shim to adapt from 30,9 up to 34,9 (Scott, I know....)

Got the machine shop at work to make one up. Used Nylon 6.12 Copolymer. Stuff is super durable (80-85 shore). Cut around 2mm out of the tube longitudinally and you're good. Made mine around 150mm long.

It's still going after many many years.

Edit: That size should be available from a good LBS. CRC might have but postage and vat etc will make it expensive.

There was a post in the classifieds for a dropper the other day that had the same size shim you need with it.. Maybe you can convince the owner to sell separately..

Edit: Can't find it anymore.. Think it was advertised by Shambokkie or something like that.. May have sold dropper and remove ad, but might still have shim.

The guys at solomons say they can get one custom made as well. Waiting for a quote on that as they gave OH the wrong size - went in this morning to exchange it and apparently they don't come in that size.. Wtf.

You'd think sizes are standard...

Local is lekker. They list every size except the one you looking for. But worth a shot.

Givem a call

I always forget about these guys, they are so helpful and usually have what you can't find anywhere else.

Give them a call as in the past they have helped me with stuff that wasn't listed on their site.

If you come right with them I can collect and post for you as they are just around the corner from my work, should be cheaper than their shipping costs.

They don't have that size either - bollocks.

Tx for the heads up though.

I made one from some shim material I got at work. Just rolled a lip at top and then rounded it to fit in post. Still working now and sitting tighter than my Reverb thats the right size( did for friends bike). I used copper plate. Its pretty easy to do but does not look as neat as some options. Your going to struggle to find a shim in that size as its thin (0.35mm plate thickness). Good Luck

It's a 0.7mm difference, so each walls needs to be 0.35mm.. I believe a coke can is 0.30mm... It could work...  Use a beer can instead, maybe it will go down better with the other half...
