I refused to buy a 38, even though that's currently "my size"

Used to be a 30, when I was in the UK. Trying to get down to 32 again, and I'll be MEGA happy.

It also helps that in addition to my now tri-weekly rides (riding went to pot after Tokai went up in smoke, and I've only just recently started riding again at another location) I have found a lekker little 25k route that I can do in 1hr30 at the moment. Close to home, so as soon as I get home (and I've confirmed that the wife can look after the rugrat) I'm on the bike and back in time to cook dinner for us.

I went down from a 38" to a loose 30" by going LCHF. And I still set PRs with every ride :)

nice!

I tell you now - I wasn't convinced on the LC side of things, not being gluten sensitive or having celiac disease myself, but the difference between exercising after a lunch with carbs, vs a pure protein based lunch (pastrami, egg, avo bagel vs tuna & scrambled egg w a splash of mayo) was extreme. Especially after a week of having almost no carbs except from veg.

Jeepers. Acid reflux, no energy, highly elevated HR and the slowest time ever up a climb... I don't know whether it was the food, or just an off day, but the correlation was mind blowing, and I'm sure there was causation there.

Since then, I haven't touched carbs in the form of bread, pasta or anything flour-based.

Breakfast consists of egg and / or bacon, lunch tuna and scrambled egg or a roast chicken leg (like today) and dinner is whatever I make for the family, minus the carbs.

This threads gone real quiet...

Been pretty much sugar free and haven't touched bread (which I used to eat daily) for the last week +

Still learning the ropes and need to expand the eating plan, but so far so good. About a kg down and feeling pretty good.

Kicked the sugar without too much hassle (just tea is a bit of a struggle) and the bread has been surprisingly easy, but that's where I need to find some more options for the easy, always available, filler that bread is/was.

That is the biggest problem with bread, its easy!

I still have not found a good replacement filler but I always have a couple of boiled eggs in the fridge which have more or less sufficed.

Tuna, boiled eggs, almonds, cheese and FC yogurt my main go too's at the moment... but definitely need to start getting creative. Keen to try out the Cauliflower wraps from woolies, just not finding them at the moment. Will also start cooking up some chicken breasts and mince at the start of the week. Need to try keep it simple though for it to work long term, with kids and work there's not a lot of free time floating around for planning etc.
