I have never ridden through mud/clay like that!

I had layers upon layers upon layers on my drivetrain. This is actually a picture when it was cleaner after riding through some puddles...post-59482-1441468012,799.jpg

So how did everyone fair?

I still had fun.

Had a free ticket for this race, couldnt get my new tyre on the rim last night, am glad i did not do this, the bikes i saw coming back from the race on the back of the cars looked scary...all i see is rands and cents...kinda knew the top section was mgoing to be muddy, last time we rode it, it was feshfesh...

How's your drivetrain doing after that serious application of grinding paste?

I stay away when the mud gets like that, riding in mud is awesome but not if it costs a few Rk to sort the bike out afterwards. Rather Ss all the way in that case.

A full service is definitely in order. Especially a full crank and BB clean.

I'll be honest and admit that my riding partner and I discussed at 06h00 on Saturday morning and decided to NOT race due to the weather conditions and the possibility of a bike looking like the pic above ^^^.

There's Dullstroom next weekend and training for a big race at the end of the month, so the possibility of a stuffed ($$$) bike or an injured body did not make sense.
