Post of a lady friend of mine who lives in Fish Hoek and is a paramedic!

"On the way to work this morning I see a guy riding my bicycle that was stolen a year ago. I pull over and with authority in my voice tell him to stop. He climbs off the bike and I say "thank you that's my bike". Take it from him, ask him how much did he pay for it, put in my car and drive off with him standing there with his helmet still on his head looking sheepish."

Way to go!

(a bit daring though but amazing what a uniform can do sometimes)

Early 2000's my mother spotted by boets bike that was taken in a hijacking on Jan Smuts drive as she was driving back from work. Got out the car, klapped the guy with her bunch of keys until he lay on the floor, then the cops rocked up and chucked him in jail for the night to identify the next day.

I felt sorry for him, those keys are massive.  :P

My mate drove past his stolen Scott near Fourways. Pulled over, stopped the guy, and not only convinced him to give the bike back, but also to get in the car and go with him to the police station, where he was duly arrested!!!

Mate then called the insurance company and told them they could come collect their bike - a year later he still has it in his garage!

Good for you. Well done.

Now, any reason why the question "How much he paid for it"? Thought you were going to refund him a nominal amount.

to mentally munch on while on the long walk to wherever, along with all the what-ifs, and should-have's that must have been tumbling in his mind all that time: i should've told her to fly, i should've just ignored her. Should've stolen her car instead!!! SHOULD HAVE!! URRRRRRGHH!!!. the same stuff us the victims think of...

That must flippin burn!
