Momsen Vipa Ac

HEy Guys

 

In the market for a new bike and as always cash is limited. I have looked at all sorts of bikes, but have opportunity to buy a momsen Vipa AC

 

I hear very mixed reports. I personally know two guys who have broken the frame at the rear pivot (they were both big boys though)

 

Whats the vote?

Well, I am coming off a 15,5kg beast. Merida 120 26"

Enjoy the trail aspect of bike but weight is a prob.

 

Test rode a specialized camber carbon. Amazing bike but waayyy out the price range.

 

Giant anthem? Cannondale Rush ?

Reason why I won't go vipa xt

 

Things are on the tight side, but can't tell much from that angle. I had a 2.25 fitted to a Wide Lightning on my Vipa and didn't have clearance issues. Can't imagine how much wider you'd like to go on a XC bike.

There is a bit more space, running 2.25 and clearence about 12mm to cross strut.

Pictures angle perhaps not the best.

Did Dr Evil, which was muddy and cant complain of mud getting stuck.
