Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Anthem SX would be my first choice there every time. Then camber
cpelser Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Maklik - koop n 2014 Carbon Anthem X Advanced vir R34 000 (vol XT 2x10) OF Koop hierdie Cube: http://evobikes.co.za/bikes/cube-stereo-120-hpc-pro-29er-2015-black-grey-green.html(Reverb!!)
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 As an alternative, if you want a niner, is to go for the Anthem X and slap a 120mm fork on the front. It really does transform the ride. Reason I say SX though - it's got AMAZING reviews overseas, and it seems as if it's the rabid jack russel of the MTB world.

Slap a shorter stem & wider bar on there and it'll be ready to rip.
raptor-22 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Anthem 27.5 sx faux. Buy a std anthem 27.5 and slap a 120mm fork from the start

edgarblount Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 That cube is an AMAZING deal. Slap a shorter stem & wider bar on there and it'll be ready to rip. What I'm thinking as well. Carbon + XT at that price? What's the catch? I think I've been seeing to many red S' the last year or so.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 By how much does the 120mm fork slacken the head angle then?By a full degree, to 68.5 Taken straight from the geo numbers on the website.
mtbride Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 By a full degree, to 68.5 Taken straight from the geo numbers on the website. Talking about on a 29er Anthem X1, it's currently 71 with the 100mm fork, so will be 70 then ... thanks

Would these numbers still be relevant?
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 If you're 178 I'd SERIOUSLY consider the 21" rather than the 19", depending on your inseam (to account for the dropper extension) due to the short top tube. It's MEGA short. Same for the Anthem - rather go for the Large than the Medium.
NelAndre Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 That cube is an AMAZING deal. Slap a shorter stem & wider bar on there and it'll be ready to rip. Hi: Why would you slap a wider bar and shorter stem on the bike? What does that do?
