wolfie, the general lack of interest in the cake, which i got up at 4am to bake, is definitely NOT a good motivator for future.

I Fly and wildog_a didn't come get and the team i rode with didn't exactly eat it all so can you blame me for wondering if it's worth the effort?

Our apologies but watching our weight for the Epic is a hard habit to break.

We feel as fanatical about grams as ex smokers feel about 2nd hand smoke.

We had a hard race. It started off as a mission to beat the other Ride team and ended up chasing a team of youngsters. We eventually beat them by 2 minutes. It was quite funny that we raced to the limit to beat another team out of overall 4th place in a small town race for prize money of R150.

As a category winner we also earned about R2000 but that was not nearly as satisfying as our R150 4th place.

The timing system was really informative with overall stats -eg total laps completed = 2796.

It updated each rider's stats and their team's placing as soon as they crossed the timing point.

The results log was projected onto a blank wall so anyone could see the status of the race through the 24 hours.

Jeez well done Jules, that was a convincing win in the 6 hour!! ClapClap

I Fly' date=' how can a Ride team win a race/category that Ride sponsers?

I checked the race rules again. It seems that the team that goes the faster for longest wins.

Anatomic had a sale of Ride branded kit during the race. Almost everyone was wearing something with Ride on it so we managed to sneak the win.

we also had a girl that only did (now how many did you do slowpoke?)Wink

I had a bit of a problem with the first 2 km of the route, it felt like a parking lot on the hill.

sorry for what?

Thanks Zaskar. I dunno how the hell people ride MTB for longer than that. Four days later and my body is still aching.
