Thanks Racetec

For Sunday's SCT ride, I dropped back to start with 2A as oppose to my 1C start group. A wise decision due to my current level of fitness. After 1H15,  my Garmin died even though I had charged it for the whole of Saturday night, then my worse fear, no racetec time! They indicated my chip registered at all mats, except the finish! I finished with two others which had 1D group numbers. The only information I could give racetec was start time according to my Garmin, finish time according to my cellphone, and that the three of us finished alone. My friend who started in 1D and who we caught up with, punctured with 10km to go, so he could only confirm I was there up to that point and finished ahead of him. Luckily racetec has given me a time based on the limited information I could provide. Thanks as at least I have some sort of seeding reference, which may not be accurate, but at least it is something.

I wonder why the chip would have registered at all the mats when i was in the group, yet failed to read at the finish when it was only 3 of us???

When race tec still did 2 oceans (do they still?) I got an official everything in the paper and results table, but then when it came to seeding the next year it registered me as a Did Not Start.....

Anyway, these things happen I suppose. Ask John Connor.... even technology with the best intentions has its flaws

Some times technology has a blip I guess. Where do you have your chip on bike?

I had my chip on my right shoe strap. Not the first time I did this but maybe will fit it at the fork.

One of those things that goes onto your fork so there is no interference is best.

Maybe those lead soled shoes stopped the signal :P
