raptor-22 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I was told it comes in an in-line and set back version.so does it or doesn't it? anyone know ? no mention of clamp configuration other than two bolt mentioned on the giant-bicycles.com websites in USA or Aus
Raydek Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 As far as I know there is only one version.. This is the clamp.
raptor-22 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Ok so thats the one pictured on the website . Thanks
Raydek Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 yeah. And in this case it'd be a new stanchion. Not sure whether the economics of it would lead to a stanchion replacement over a full post replacement anyway...Update: It has taken a while, but just got a call from Giant and my new post is waiting for me, thanks Giant
RiverInTheRoad Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I have an almost new 2016 Giant Dropper but unfortunately the post slips, slips meaning that the post does not lock when the lever is not pressed. Something is wrong with the release, almost as if the springback of the post is faulty. Has anyone had a similar issue? Is it just a cable issue?
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I have an almost new 2016 Giant Dropper but unfortunately the post slips, slips meaning that the post does not lock when the lever is not pressed. Have you tried adjusting the tension?
RiverInTheRoad Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I also suspect a cable tension issue. I have opened it up and saw that the lever gets stuck (the actuation lever at the top of the post) on the edge. of its channel and consequently does not disengage properly, its hard to explain.
Skylark Posted December 17, 2015 Author Posted December 17, 2015 Or cable inner too short, disconnect the inner from the bar switch, so there's zero tension of the cable and go for a ride, if the slipping stops then its the cable. If not then open up the post and clean everything properly and then retest, maybe some grit is blocking/locking something up.
RiverInTheRoad Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 The post stil slips when there is zero cable tension. Possibly a faulty cartridge?
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Most probably. Take it in
ALLMTB Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Anyone know of a shop which has a 150mm drop in stock?
Raydek Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Take note: A problem that I have encountered with mine... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/153525-review-your-dropper-a-guide-for-buyers/page-2?do=findComment&comment=2786000
