Hey guys; The first race is done and dusted and as this is a post scheduled from the past, I don’t even know who won. Please don’t forget to enter for next weeks race ASAP to secure your pre-entry.

 

For those that have just completed the XCO #1 and wish to enter for XCO #2, your lives have just been made easier. Just use the WP registration number you have from XCO #1 as your deposit reference on your payment – no entry form and all you need to send to info@wpmtb.co.za is your proof of payment.

 

For those of you who are new or did not enter XCO #1, please copy the excel spreadsheet from the link below and complete it. Email the signed form to info@wpmtb.co.za along with your proof of payment.

 

All entries will receive a confirmation via email by close of business Thursday 18th of February.

 

Please Note: there are no late entries on the day of the event. Officials will be on hand for registration purposes only, i.e. number collection and indemnity forms.

How much fun was it to watch this race on saturday. If only i was not fat and technically challenged.

 

Nice to know a few of the guys racing as well. And those kids gooi'ing their bikes all over the place, fearless.

 

Also nice to see Yolanda Neff in person

Even better to see a local, Tandi Kitching, more than hold her own against the Internationals.

My boy crashed out on his second lap.  Bib was torn and his hip was numb and eina. Bike is good and no broken bones.

 

He reckon he is OK for round 2 of the nationals at the same place.  He was back on the bike late Saturday afternoon there to work on his mistake.

 

On another note:  the Entry Ninja process is weird.

That chick can trap a bicycle. Chatted to one of the youth ladies and whom raced at the same time as yolanda and she said yolanda was behind her (leading the race at that stage) and asked her all cool and calm "if you have a moment can i pass" she obviously seeing whom it was gave away as fast as possible and apparently yolanda thanked her and gave her some words of encouragement before disappearing in front of her.

Her whole team is there training it seems. I've been watching the 2015  UCI World Cups races  again and she is just amazing: her strength, tenacity, technical skills, its all there and a real fun person as well, at least that the way she comes across, a real asset to the sport.

The nationals is this coming weekend at helderberg plaas again. Dont know if she riding again, i know nino in town as well and i am hoping he will come. Not that he is as pretty but just to see his skills. O and a mate of mine said that Anneke Langvad will be there saturday.

I will be there Saturday.  My boy will start his race at around 9.  Hope he has a better race.  It will be hectic, as there is not that much parking, and having to stop regularly for passing when driving up to the farm on the narrow road.

 

I think after my boy's race, we are going to park ourselves at the rock garden, with my camera of course.

We went with our bikes. Not alot of place to watch on the rock garden so get up there early. Otherwise a very nice spot was the dropoff in the granny forest to watch as well.

Ja, but even I can do that drop-off if you take the line on the right, so I doubt we might see much action there.  But it has enough space for spectators.  A pity that the rock garden don't have much spectator space.
