So a quick question, my drivetrain is moertoe. The mechanic at the bikeshop spend more than an hour onsaturday trying to get the shifting working but the cassette is done and you have to shift 2/3 shifts at the shifter to get the chain to move to another gear.

So my question, should i ride K2C like this or should i replace my whole drivetrain before. i currently have 1x10 and i have a brand spanking new 11speed in the cupboard at home. I just want to get the most out of my current one as i am binning it anyways.

I was really hoping to still ride my 10speed untill after the K2C. Except for the crap shifting do i run any other risks by keeping the current drivetrain on?

Are you prepared to be frustrated the whole 95km?  There is a lot of undulations en route, as a result you shift gears often (or at least I do) especialy up Ou Wapad and Simola Hill.

If yes, ride it like that

If no, change the damn drivetrain, you do have all the components to your disposal. :whistling:

If your cassette is really stuffed then you run the risk of chain slippage.  Not only annoying, but it could cost you finishing depending on how bad it is.

What's the gain?  I could understand trying to save some cash, but if you've got the whole 11sp system at home then just get it changed!

I could never ride without everything working 100%.

There is nothing to be gained by running your current setup until it's totally unusable.  You've got your moneys worth out of it.  Let it go on to mountain biking Valhalla...

Yeah maybe i should just do this.

Same route of around 500 m climbing route over 40 km that I've been doing since the the start of July. Maybe 4 times still, and one longish sight-seeing ride around the flatter beachfront. (Can afford to take it slower in the mornings since my "sponsor" has removed his dogs after the court gave him a hefty bill to settle with me).
