Jay_B Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Got the same problem here as well and friend of mine as well... both of us have a seeding index according to ASG of under 10 but i am in HL and he is in GL... please explain that to me. Happened at satellite classic as well and when i emailed them they said they can sort it out at registration but when there they couldn't do anything about it. If this continues i wont enter their events anymore.

On their side it's showing that I don't have a seeding at all, so it's showing 100 as my road index. That's why I'm in FL. Even though I can see on the site my seeding is 10.33 (without Fast One). The lady I spoke to said they left a lot of empty numbers in AL so people can correct these at registration. But she also asked that we should enter seeding results from non ASG events on the ASG site.

Now do I take 3hours off work to go there and get a reply sorry we can only get you up to D like with Satellite Classic.. Nee magtig ASG
Frosty Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 The seeding IS a complete balls up, and the event organiser can't do much about it as they don't have access to the biggest database currently controlled by Cycle Events/PPA/CTCTT., so events are limited to their own database. About the placing of riders in GL/HL when the seeding value appears lower just doesn't make sense, and they should get it right. I know and understand everyone's frustration with it and I know the only solution is for our provincial body to step in and DEMAND that all race organisers share their results so we have one single database for all GP events. All races then use this database. I have a lot on my plate at the moment with the 3rd biggest GP event coming up in 3 weeks, plus a few other smaller races in April and through the winter. I have another allie to help address basic problems our provincial Union should be addressing, and plan to discuss our way forward to address this with Gauteng Cycling. On the agenda will be: Provincial seedingNumber collectionPermanent numbersRace calendar (nothing currently available)Communication. Lots of people complain but few step up to make themselves heard. That must change otherwise we keep accepting this below par BS.
