I'm always curious to know how a 3 week strike causes a 2/3 month delay - I've been waiting for a Colnago stem sent from the UK by a friend that arrived in SA 3rd June - apparently that container has yet to be opened.  On the plus side I have some nice stuff from R2 and starbike that could arrive anytime, and long after the pain of the expense has disappeared.  These days you can pay off the card before the goods arrive

Because when the staff return, they work on the same (or a little slower) pace ... so in effect they are just dealing with the usual clearance rate prior to the strike. Now they have this 3 week delay they need to catch up on, so management will try and push the staff a little harder, but essentially the staff will be working overtime, on overtime pay, to catch up the lost production/processing.

Now if you want to be critical, you can say the staff were on 3 weeks unpaid leave, they will now work 3 weeks overtime pay to cover this .... so essentially they were on leave and come back to work with the option of increasing their monthly take which then covers their loss in income form the previous leave with some interest.

Or am I shooting from the hip and hitting everything but the big elephant in the room.

yes things seem to be going better at SAPO.

Bought from Bike24 recently and also took about 2 weeks.

Everyone seem as it appears to forget the 2.5 to 3% credit card Forex handling fee. This is based on full invoice and of course when a credit card is used in the first place.

Try Standard Bank Shyft.  Their forex fees are much better.  They're currently offering about 0.9% on euros, and about 0.5% on dollars.  https://getshyft.co.za/

I use Shyft - Its truly an amazing app from STD bank, no one has ever been able to beat their rates and admin fees. Have a physical card as well - works perfect on all my Overseas trips even at the ATM's
