Hi do anyone know when this race is?

 

 

It is the one running from on the N14 Centurion to Muldersdrift and back

after all the complaints last year, I doubt its gonna happen again

For some reason, Pretoria cannot hold a race. 

The one by the union buildings was the coolest race...but died after about 2 or 3 attempts.

There was a race held over Queen Wilhelmina, Klapperkop etc....died

Serengeti.  Dead

Capital Classic.  Nudda

Race never made sense to me, 20ks of N14 was removed from 94.7 cos it was crap and everyone hated it. Then someone makes a whole 100km race of nothing but boring N14 with nothing but road cones separating you from speeding cars who suddenly have a bunch of cyclists in the middle of "their" highway? People were bumped off bikes by a guy in a ML if I remember? Hope it doesn't happen and opens up a weekend for another race to happen in PTA . Maybe not the race PTA wants, but the race PTA deserves.

I sent them an email and the reply I got was that it will happen towards the end of the year due to roadworks. No date has been confirmed

2016 sees the second year of the Bestmed National Cycling Series.

The Mountain-Bike Series concluded with the Bestmed Paarl MTB Classic in November 2015 and the 2015 Series of road events comes to a close with the Bestmed Tour of Good Hope on 29 February – 4 March – and the grand finale is set to provide lots of excitement.

The events that fall into the 2016 series are:

for me the race was organised well and that to have the race 95% on a highway that's not closed of to traffic is very well done. Safety of cyclist always 1st

Didnt much care for last years Capitolclassic, the motorists were disconcerting and having no bail out space didnt help.

 

I really hope the Bakwena Super Classic could be revived, that was a great race.

Well I remember C group riders couldn't get water from water points, and the few that got said it was dirty water

3 Toilets at the start fro everyone....

warm water at finish

One of the most expensive races of 2015

And a car mislead the elite men causing the top 4 to be dq'd

 

and then nothing to the organizers but such a  boring route

 

I drove from beyers to centurion

only to ride to beyers again turn around ride back to centurion

then get into my car and drive back to beyers again

Not sure of the refreshments issues but I can almost promise it will not have been dirty water. Thats a heatlh risk.and with so many moan gatte and softies nowadays legal action would have been taken. So yes believe its skinder stories

 

Cant comment on that but we had no problem following the route at all. Marshalls was all over and also one need to memorise the route before you start. It was that easy. Off highway right onto Jean, Lencin right at Dros and shell and next left (cant remember roads name at gautrain, straight to finish. Thats simple

 

Your choice where to stay. Cant blame the organisers for that. before you accepted the entry the routes was available

Why is it so difficult to get a proper race going in Pta?

I can't think it's due to a lack of support from riders, perhaps lack of support from city council?

 

you can make a nice scenery route including Voortrekker Monument, Union Buildings, Fort Klapperkop, Fort Loftus and don't forget Hotel 224. And trust me it will be tough as well.

 

I'm sure if we can get Joburg close down for a day, we can do the same in Pta.

 

perhaps the problem is the organisers..... I can see a Macsteel Capital Classic go down very well (lol)
