Where to get Enduro bearings direct in SA

Hi there, Rush sports wont sell to individuals and I have just had to pay R100 a bearing for my AC hub. I needed 4 bearings and I feel that R400 is to much for little bearings. 26x17x5mm.

Enduro bearings online don't list them.

Any idea as to where I can source them?

Thank you

Ryan

Just bought some 6803 bearings at BMG (NTN 6803LLU double contact sealed high carbon chrome steel). They where R60+VAT but are not stainless steel as the original AMC bearings. So if you get original AMC or Enduro bearings fro R100 it's actually not that bad.

Was that via your LBS but ordered in from Rush Sports?

Last time I bought bearings (suspension) from BMG too and thought I paid a lot, then went to price the Enduro bearings from RS and it would have been cheaper  -_-

What was the price for the BMG bearings compared to the Enduro bearings? Same quality and material?

Just ask your LBS to get them from Rush Sports for you. Done this before to get a pair of Praxis chain rings.

I stock some Enduro bearings.  6803 are just under R90 ea.

BMG shops are wise to bike bearing prices so never admit that you are buying for a bike!  My wife's food mixer often needs bearings!

It is very difficult to judge quality off the shelf. I have paid as little as R30 for No Name and R120 for a (faulty) branded one.

I prefer using Enduro because I know what I am getting and the price is reasonable.  For most bearings they stock ABEC 3 or 5 grade.

R100 a bearing is pretty good! You can of course but cheap chinese bearings but you'll end up buying many more and spending time servicing instead of riding...

Agree with everyone else. R100 per bearing ain't bad.

I recently did pivot bearings on my frame and BMG were substantially more expensive than Enduro Max bearings from the LBS. Yes the BMG bearings were NTN but they were not a full compliment bearing.

It seems that as soon as the chap on the other side of the phone hears the bearings are for either a bicycle or a motorbike the prices seem to elevate somewhat.

AND they are QUICK (if you have the right LBS) - order today from RS and get your much needed things tomorrow.

Rush used to sell direct to the public, but at the same recommended retail price of the lbs.

You do get cheaper alternatives, but sometimes the quality correlates to the price.

Putting cheap bearings into a fancy bike is like buying a helmet at Game, yes it conforms to basic standards, but a high end helmet will give better protection.

I recently bought bearings for my Praxis BB at BMG in Randburg Strijdom Park. NSK 6805 I think for R120 each. Much better than a new BB!!

Btw I also took apart a Shimano Dura Ace BB-9000, do not do it.....they are not serviceable.

Ya the number of times that's happened. Same in the aerospace industry when ordering bolts etc.... especially so called MilSpec, on average was three times the price for items that were the same as in automotive use "oh no sir, these 'aircraft standard' for use"
