Rockshoc revalation travel problems

missing some travel.

I can pull on the crown and a little travel wil come back but then go back down.

Was for a recent service, also not giving any problems

I weigh 60kg

 

 

Single air spring 

 

Have no idea what the problem could be

 

Any and all advice greatly appreciated

I had the same problem some years back with the same shock...Greg Minaar's boet down in PMB sorted it out quick stix...what the actual problem was I don't know, but R360  stopped my whining.

HOLY **** you won't believe the solution I found on MTB'r 

 

I guy posted that there gets some air trapped in the negative air chamber which then creates a vacuum that then pulls the fork down. 

 

NOW listen to the solution, You sit on the front wheel and take the handlebar with both hands by the stem and push up (with a bit of force ) then you suddenly hear 'pffssst" then the air gets released back and the fork pops up . WHAT!? I know right..

 

Did this and my travel is now dead on 130mm ,super chuffed :clap:  :clap:

 

Also the weirdest thing I have ever seen in the cycling world.

You can also pump it up to max pressure and it should equalise.

 

It's not that odd if you know how the valve works - it equalises positive and negative chambers at a fixed point in the stroke by bypassing the piston seal. Sometimes air gets on the wrong side of the piston and results in the shock being "stuck down" because there's too much air in the negative spring for the air pressure to get the piston as far as the valve, so all you've got to do is supply that force some other way (like pulling on it) so it can get to the point where it equalises and you're good to go.

 

I should probably draw a picture but I'm lazy. Sorry.
