Excuse the silly question but i am trying to learn. In noob terms: what is the problem with pressfit BB up to now and why would a larger threaded BB then be so much better?

You could literally take a metal PF30 frame and tap it...

Well that's nice...

Bugger to get that accurate..... and square - it's a really big tap....

Serviceability, threaded bb's need less tooling and time to maintain / service. Also imo pressfit BB's tend to last not as long as their threaded equivalent. Whether that is because its easier to maintain i can't really say.

Article is dated November 2015.  What's happened since?

good question....I would replace my current working pressfit BB out of principle if easybike or CWC stocks it

Plus PF BB's always squeak / creak.  You can make it go away for a while, but it always comes back.  Always.

agree...again whether that is a result of the admin involved to service them...dunno. Its very quick to clean and regrease a threaded BB.

I like that it says it's an open standard, that bodes well. A little unsure of what the reality of this, my bike has a pf30 shell but I have to run an adapter and then I have a shimano bb. Will we see the benefit when the new bikes come out? Or is it something that can solve problems now? also a noob...

I guess you would need to have/make some sort of a jig that you could attach to the BB somehow. Would be really be a bugger to scrap a frame because of a slightly out of square tap!
