JHB Trails for beginner

Hi guys,

Just moved from road to MTB and I'm looking for trails around Johannesburg (near fourways is even better).

I'm looking for places that have difficult level between easy and medium and I can take the family (wife and kids) and we all can ride even if it is in different tracks.

Facilities, like toilets, restaurants will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

We (myself, wife and kids) ride at NF on weekends.

Very easy to ride.

The spruit is fun, but crossing those roads with kids will be tricky.

Not for beginners?

It's good for all. It's what you do on the spruit that counts

I did my first 3 rides on the spruit in 2003. It's where the bug bit me!

Spruit is definitely for beginners!!!

Spruit is definitely for beginners!!!

Not when it's busy though - when I started I found the Spruit to be incredibly intimidating - there was always so much going on.

Im doing my first ride at Modderfontien this coming weekend, cant wait!!!!

Good luck. I completed the yellow trail last weekend and it took me by surprise.Didn't expect to have so much climbs but overall nice track. Single track not that fast as others. Trails marked and mantained very well. Enjoy.

except when you don't pay attention on the Inca Trail and do some spectacular aerobatics into the only ditch filled with water for miles

I need to dust off the war wounds and come back and beat that $%#%@
