No one enjoys dealing with omnico so if that can find any excuse to not deal with them they'll use it.

I stand to be corrected, but as far as I am aware only Giants frame and chainstay carry a lifetime warranty, all the other components, including the maestro linkage is 12 months from date of purchase.

Giant actually has a five year warranty, valid for the original owner.

Lifetime warranty perhaps, but for the life of the bike, not the owner, and they consider the life of the bike to be 5 years.

I'm sure that is the way they advertise it but it is not what I've experienced. Three years ago I tried to claim on a warranty for an 8 year old Giant hard tail and was told that the warranty is only 5 years. Last year when I bought my Trance, the LBS, which is a Giant authorised dealer, told me that the warranty on Giant frames is 5 years.

Either I have been screwed and given incorrect information by someone who should know the facts, or something else is a bit fishy. Will do some more research on this on for sure.

When I bought my anthem last year from Bruce Reynecke, they said it was a lifetime warranty on the frame.

Seems there is a grey area about lifetime. Even if you get a lifetime jail sentence its only 30 years.
