What about a Cannondale Habit.... From all I've heard it is a very capable bike both up and down. That one in the classifieds got me looking at it.

 

With a 140mm fork or a Talas it looks like it could be just what the OP is looking for.

while we are pimping off our bikes here ... if you are a large frame rider, and are not obsessed with wheel size, my Carbon Stumpy is up for grabs @ 17K ... that leaves you lots of money to buy a dropper and spend the rest on yearly permits to trails and events.

Iv just picked up a giant trance 2 and couldn't be happier. Was looking for the same sort of thing. A bike to do single track, downhill and normal everyday riding in between. I'm 27 yrs old 76kg and this bike feels great uphill over normal and technical sections and downhill it's incredible. I have lots to learn when it comes to DH to get anywhere near the bikes full potential.
