Giant frame warranty for the win... no questions asked. Have seen a few 110's breaking of late. No frame is perfect.   Get the frame that fits you the best.

I'm assuming your reference to a "new" bike means that it isn't second hand, instead of that it is just new to her. Because the warranty on the Giants (don't know about other brands) are not carried over to the next owner if you sell it.

I would hate to keep my bike for a lifetime, so I'm cool with two years.

Imagine riding a 2016 Giant in 2026.

Anyhow if your bike had insurance, there is no worry if the frame fails.

Bit of a grey area for me here. For instance: if a person buys a second hand Giant, insures it properly and it crack's. Would it be a legitimate claim? Wouldn't the insurer claim product failure? It wasn't in an accident or stolen. Just wondering.

Good for you, but not everyone can afford 22k for a new frame or 50k for a new bike every 2 years.  I took my 2008 Scott for a ride yesterday and it still rides great even with smaller wheels  :whistling:

Insurance claim requires an 'incident'.

I'd say insurer definitely justified in questioning validity of claim in case of inexplicable product failure... however, how many claims are submitted with inexplicable circumstances.?

But that's probably another topic/thread.

Anyway like I said earlier I love the Pyga One Ten 29, but I had to listen to my head and my wallet so I bought a brand new 2016 Giant Anthem frame and a new 120mm Rockshox Reba for the same price as a Pyga frame and I have the peace of mind knowing it is covered by a lifetime warranty.

@ PeterF, circa 2000 Scotts are great, albeit mine is of the road variety. (CR1)

Mine is the Scott Genius MC30.  Still going strong after 8 years.

I'm afraid what WAS R50k two years ago is now R75k; assume what he meant to say by 2026 he will need a E-bike to still keep up with the pack.

Note to Peter; Giant warranty applies only to bicycles and framesets purchased new from, and assembled by, an Authorized Giant Retailer.
