To sell or not to sell?

Hi Hubbers, need some advice here.

I have a Scott Speedster frame and wheels I would like to sell but have no idea whats it worth. It seems to be a 2009 model. Im not much of a road bike person, quite clueless when it comes to them, only use it for the 94.7.

Planning  sell the frame and get a nice 2012 giant trc frame, then do a rebuild. Would this be a wise decision?

Sell the whole bike and buy a new bike? not sure you going to get much for that frame at all. so if you doing it for cost saving I don't think you going to save that much.

Why? You've already pointed to not being to much of a roadie. Rather pop those rands in your back burner and put it towards something that really tickles your fancy. To me it just seems like a waste. Call me old fashioned.

In short, no.

Rather sell the whole thing and put those bucks with the bucks you would spend on upgrades and then bob is your uncle.

You will go from 9spd to 10spd ultegra, carbon frame and nicer wheels.

There is a long answer as well.

Would be nice if I could sell the whole bike and get something new, but thats not an option at the moment. The bike Im looking at only needs a groupset and brakes then its good to go.

So my idea is to only strip the components and leave the rest.

I guess I wouldn't get much for the wheels and frame.

I think your plan is a good option. I have done the same thing a few times in my lifetime.

It's also a fun exercise building up your own bike. It gives you a nice sense of satisfaction.

I would guess that you would get about R1500 for the frame and wheels.

Just do it, yes it is a wise decision.
