SRAM XX1 derailleur back plate

I wonder if anyone can help.

 

Cape Cycle Systems does not stock the back plate of the XX1 derailleur.  They want you to fork out R4500 for a new derailleur.

Not going to happen.

 

Anyone have an old derailleur that is somehow otherwise broken that I can buy the part off?

Anywhere else in the world that anyone else know of that I can order from?

 

Don't tell me to go Shimano.  14 years ago Shimano was also unable to fix a stupid part and that cost them my business for the past 14 years. 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

So 14 years ago Shimano couldn't fix a problem and lost your business.  Today Sram can't fix your problem but you're staying with them?

I had a similar problem with my SRAM Red, it was repaired by someone who does carbon frame repairs. I was quite happy with the job, he even resprayed the paintwork on it.

Just need to fix this then off the bike goes.
