FYI

Without the time cut being overruled, Sky would have been left with just Froome for the remainder of the Vuelta, as he was the only rider from the team to finish within the time limit. Bora-Argon, FDJ and Lotto-Jumbo would also have had just one rider left, while Giant-Alpecin, Dimension Data and Cofidis would have had just two.

Didn't Lopez also finish in the cut off?

Not that it would change much.... At least he would only have to carry 1 extra water bottle....

They could have a delayed start for all the riders that missed the cut off..

Tomorrow is more of a "flattish" stage and I reckon the GC will be saving themselves (tomorrow) for the TT on Friday.. so today Bert can go bonkers again..

Also the kids don't have much on this afternoon..so ideally this would again be a good day to entertain me[emoji6]

This is but a fanciful notion but I wouldn't mind seeing Beefy, CF and Chaves working together to cut or eradicate NQ's lead. That would be very entertaining!

Indeed but I think it has reached the point where riders want to secure their positions in GC... so I don't know if we'll see alliances.... Maybe we'll see a move from Orica today, they are sitting comfy with 2 riders to be watched by the other GC guys.

Although this is the Vuelta and anything goes

Nairo is actually sitting very comfy.. while positions 2-5 are actually quite close he can capitalize on their infighting..

Think we'll see a couple of nervous riders out there today.

Like I said it's fanciful notion.

Another team that's going to want to protect or improve their GC guys positions is Cannondale Drapac. Talansky and Formolo are both in the top ten and I am sure both want to make an impression on the GC race. So maybe an OBE and CD collaboration?

Whatever happens it'll wind up being entertaining!

Yes that would be interesting...

BMC could also be looking for allies.

Bertie certainly has everything to attack for - but I suspect the other teams would ride themselves into the ground rather than let him repeat the sort of thing we saw on Crazy-Sunday.

I rode up one of the valleys into the mountains last evening and in my head I was hanging on the back of that first breakaway group from Sunday - teeth clenched, full gas . . .  ;-)

Of course in real life I was plodding along the road . . .  . . . :-)

Lots of options. Lots that could happen.

A Cav preview would be rather handy right now! :whistling:
