She's still simmering about that off the cuff comment claudio made last time about training with her brothers.

I stopped following her..so missed the whole comment - but the recent good bad article for August had it in there.

Couple of pertinent comments:

Right ffs, Rachel is an absolute machine on a bike, but really, she needs to get a grip, she is expected to win because of her unbelievable winning streak. Also in several videos she has said her brothers got her into riding, therefore without her brothers she probably wouldn't be in the position she is now, so Claudio and Warner are perfectly correct in making these statements. I can only put it down to a belief in a feminism which only exists to provoke women into believing that any help from men is wrong. So next time, you put such a rude comment down about two people who have helped the sport progress far more than you Rachel please be as polite as you would expect them to be and have a quiet word with them to ask they refrain from doing it again instead of obnoxiously making a huge deal over it on your instagram, everyone knows you are a good rider but get a grip. I think this also stems from a fear that many have of causing even mild discomfort to Atherton Racing others however are not afraid to raise issues we have with teams such as yours.

deansouthcombe...think you've gotten the wrong end of the stick @rachyboxWatching Red Bull Tv and listening to the commentary at every race, Rob and Claudio make numerous comments about your success and I think you've just homed in on one part of it. They also say that you're in another league or world to the rest and as another person has already said above, it's just the opportunity you have to ride daily with awesome older experienced talent within your own family (just happen to be male) that it must have, in some way, added to your skill set and you have surpassed others quite dramatically in your field. How many other competitors have the same scenario as you with world class siblings that were already on their way up the ladder. You're what they call an enigma. Perhaps you should just sit down and get an interview with Rob and have a cwtch, these guys genuinely seem to be in awe of your talent (we all are) and hardly suggesting you owe it totally to your brothers, that would be ridiculous. You dominate easily. Well done you x Personally I think it's the bike

  • leroc_artSorry boys??? Yeah you were fast through the trap but you would've finished 80th in the mens race. Sorry boys...how's that head fitting in that helmet? You're a hell of a racer and the best woman out there because you work damn hard like you say but the whole sorry boys thing...c'mon. Not called for and as poor as Claudio's comment.

Ya, good points there. Bit of an attitude problem has dear Rachel. On the speed trap thing - I bet I could also hit 75kp/h on a dh bike on that track but still come stone last so it really means nothing.

The speed trap is a moment in time along an entire track. Your time once you cross the finish line is all that matters.

Rachel's acheivements are undeniable, but so is her egotistical (read "***") attitude. The same goes for the rest of the Athertons.

p.s. anyone know why needles is not in the world champs squad?

From what I've heard, it is due to his rough start to the season (missing a couple WC events) and not competing locally he never made the squad based on the CSA criteria.

Junior qualies done and dusted...

Both our youngsters Chris Philogene & Cullen McMaster seemed to have struggled.

1st time for Cullen at a WC event. Must have been a real eye opener!
