All depends how long a seat post you have.  If it is not sticking out long enough to get a bottle out, the side entry must be used.

Also if you have a side entry, the bottle does not bounce out that easy?  But I would not know....I don't ride that windgat.  :whistling:

Hahaha... I'm not riding windgat either, i just don't like the camelbak thing on my back. Rather have 2 bottles for that... My seat post is long enough to allow for a cage on, just looking for opinions to a decent cage that won't leave me struggling to get the bottle back in or loosing my bottle on the decent...

On a related note: I have been wondering where one would keep spares, as a Seatpost cage takes the space needed for a saddle bag. I also don't wanna go the camelbak route.

Pocket..... you don't need much normally - given

1 - You run tubeless tires with protection and refresh your sealant regularly

2 - Keep plugs in your bars with a Sahmurai sword kit

I regularly ride with just a bomb and a pepper spray bottle in my pockets - but when racing I do add a few things - spare drop out, tire boot, multi tool, chain links, valve etc - got a small bag they fit in that just goes in the pocket - you can tape a spare tube to the frame, but your camber should have a SWAT kit you can put some stuff in - better than in a saddle bag.

Depends what spares you need?

I have a sahmurai sword in the bars, Tape a spare tube to the seatpost(I got a HT but on a dual sus maybe the frame somewhere?) Then bombs and adapter goes in my pocket. That's for a single day race. Haven't had the privilege of doing a stage race yet so not sure where I would put the extra tools needed.
