MarkW Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Hi guys! I am new on the forum, although I have been lurking for a while. Call me a bike hub stalker if you want . I'm an avid mountain biker but recently decided to start participating in triathlons so needed to get a road bike. The biggest challenge I face is getting my gear packed as I've grown accustomed to packing everything but the kitchen sink in my Camelbak. So the question is this- are backpacks/bladders allowed in road races and/or multisport events? I don't mind being the odd one out, but have honestly not seen anybody use it. Or is there any reason why it's better not used. The idea of a dozen little compartments and two bottles on the rack really does not appeal. Anybody?

I am still to find the roadie that don't care how they look on a bike, although some beg to differ. Just go out there and check the matching EVERYTHING. Anyway, all things being equal, the choice is yours.

Surely not?No mate , us roadies are smoooooth , we don't bounce nothing .hahah. For real though. You don't really need a multi tool for road . I have a poc pac that holds a tube , bomb , tyre lever , and 50 bucks. Fits perfectly into the middle pocket without bouncing at all.

If you quick enough you only need 1 bottle aparently.why I use more. Most people have a saddlebag unless you look at the A batch peeps etc.
