Has someone worked out if its fastest time down the mountain for first 4 down the mountain like KOM and sprint?

If its fastest time, it adds nothing to the viewing and only after the stage can you work out where you came for the day. Its a bit doff, doesn't really add to the viewing. Rather throw the money at the team comp rather.

Then you can chose, go for a lead rider or top 4/5 riders across the line.

Article says the fastest time down not the first one down.

Thats a little lame then, you dont get to actually see the race, not  even the riders will know who is in the lead till the end of the day. Unless race radio reports after every single descent the standings...

The Italions are not always the smartest I am afraid.

He he he I think it could have been thought up after a few bottles of wine. Could just be one of those surprise prizes, wonder if you have to buy timeshare to claim it[emoji6]

Wonder if okes will swop bikes at the top of climbs to aero bikes, with full water bottles, 80mm rims, pockets full of lead and gels and a 56 tooth chain ring.

It will have the same feeling as a fun ride, where there is a lucky draw at the end, when everyone sits round and waits for their number to be called.

Ooh there is a lot of potential here.. they can give a bonus for the rider that does the descent while wearing the funkiest outfit..what a pity Aru isn't riding.. not only does he look funky..but I can picture him in a tutu.

I do not believe that the teams will take this seriously hey
Many PROs are challenging this on Tweetiebird

And would be surprized if the descender award is taken beyond this Giro edition

Chad Young also died from a recent crash at Tour of Gila

It was a downhill segment if I am correct

A bunch crash on a descent hence the concerns regarding safety. But ja if the riders don't want it, it won't happen.

Regardless if the pro's want it to happen, if it means exposure and TV time for a random team, then it will be taken seriously.

Most of the breakaways dont think, I am probably going to win today. They get told, we need some TV time for sponsors, go get yourself into the break.

Because they are heavier and faster at going downhill?

No the discs are there to take out any of the guys who survive the descent.

The only reason why helmets are still allowed, is because we all know that they don't actually help but rather encourage more crashing and carnage.

This is all just a conspiracy by Spez to promote their disc brake bikes.

Merida will beat them in that competition, their Scultura disc version is flippen heavy. If it was Friday I would say something else now, but I'll leave it up to you guys.

Go Nibbles
