Morning guys I purchased a giant dh team to start of with , got it couriered down on Wednesday and when threw it last night to find my rear shock was if I had a pogo stick as a shock . I took the shock out and compressed it but it does not return , what could be the cause of this ? Expensive fix ? And who in table view could assist ? Thanks a mill guys

Hi guys I have tried , but the shock itself it pup only the spring works Seems as if there isn't any air , or is it a oil shock ? Still a newbie to down hill shocks

Pro deluxe is not an air shock. It's a coil shock, that has adjustments that limit the flow of oil through the rebound & compression circuits. You won't be able to "pump it up" at all.

It sounds as if it needs a pretty darn good service, FWIW. Take it to Droo at Stoke, he may be able to help but it is a pretty old shock, so parts may be non existent. May be time to have a look for a replacement.

take it to him and see what he says.

When you compressed it, did it go right to the end of its travel easily?  Have you checked the air pressure in the can yet?

I present to you, the Pro Deluxe. There's no air can on this puppy...

Show you how much I know about coil shocks. I normally wait for Droo to tell it like it is :)

Oops, my bad - I didn't read.  Where's my morning coffee?   :whistling:

As Myles said - start by turning the rebound knob all the way out. I'm assuming you've taken the spring off?

If it doesn't extend at all even with the rebound all the way open, there's most likely no pressure in the IFP, so it'll need a service. From the age of the shock it'll most likely need a service anyway. Bring it round if you're up for a drive to Salt River and I'll give you some options.
