Bottlecage height adjustment bracket

I am looking for a bracket that can be fitted to the holes in my bike frame in order to lower the bottlecage that is sitting in the triangle of my frame by about an inch. The shock is in the way and I cannot use a big bottle. Does anybody know where I can get something like this? I see it being advertised overseas but jot in SA.

I have a side entry cage, need more clearance for a larger bottle.

Spez mtb bottle cages have about 1 cm of movement in them...dunno if that helps

Can you maybe drill new holes in your existing cage?

Otherwise not difficult to buy a standard piece of 19.05mm x 4.78mm alu flat bar, cut to length, drill and countersink 2 holes for your existing frame holes then drill and tap threads into 2 smaller holes offset to the new position you need.

Use countersunk brass or stainless machine screws for the connection to your frame, creating a flush surface for the cage to bolt onto your new bracket. You may need shorter cage bolts than existing.

I made one for my brother  - Giant Trance 27.5" med

but the cage to bracket used normal nut and bolt, instead of just a bolt.

I can make you for you for free... you just pay postage

Let m know if you want me to do it and let me know the offset

it would look something like this...

What about something like that for a frame without bottle mounts?

Can maybe mount with velcro or cable ties

Hi Eddie, are you wanting one or just making a suggestion?

Had the same problem with my wife's Anthem xw ( small frame ????), actually the opposite to you as I needed to slide the cage down to fit a normal bottle but should be same principle. Bought a Spez Zee side entry cage and carefully drilled to extend the existing holes. Not sure if that will give you an inch though?

I was asking if it is possible to make somthing like this.

I dont have a bottle mount, it doesnt bother me but it does mean I have to use a bag all the time

Searched google images for 'bottle cage adapter' there are lots of different design.

My design could work with velcro straps, cable ties might break id its a MTB on rough terrain
