"Something horrible happened today. A cyclist was hit and run over by a car, charcoal Lexus ZDZ 672 GP who failed to stop. It's was at 15h45 on the cnr of Braam Fisher drive and Homestead rd in Bryanston (opposite Sandton Clinic ) I chased this car through the streets of Randburg , down Malibongwe to the Highway to 14th Ave up to Ontdekkers and then lost the car in Traffic. All the time I was on the line with 10111 to get help. The operators were okay but couldn't get any police or metro cops to respond on the radio. I went back to the accident scene and it was already cleared. I will be following up with the police tomorrow to follow up on the driver and condition of the cyclist. I hope he is okay. But I think we need to question our authorities. You can commit a crime and get away with it because the the authorities are useless. You can disobey the traffic laws because you can. In the chase which was over at 20km I didn't see 1 police or traffic officer...so I'm pretty unhappy ."
