Direct Mount Derailleur Blanking Plate

Since I've gone for a single chainring solution (and boy what a great solution) I have this direct mount on the frame which just bugs me to death because it is open - OCD is not always under control.

I've seen a couple of blanking plates which are available, but it seems as if most bike shops have no idea what I am talking about, or do not get why I'd like to blank of the mount on my bike.

My question thus to you guys, I either need someone that can 3D print me a blanking plate, or need to find a shop that can sell me a 3D blanking plate.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Are those bike shops still selling 26 inch wheeled bikes? There is a thread here somewhere, about plates, some Hubber is also 3D printing them.

Make your own.

Piece of thick alu flatbar, a fine toothed bench saw, a file, some sandpaper, a drill bit and countersink, the correct diameter bolt, a lick of paint in your chosen color, a bit of your time, and Voila....  :whistling:

Don't even need a file, I can start up the milling machine in the garage.... not even a lick of paint, take it to Coat of Arms for a coating of Ceracoat - will last very long. And I might end up with one of the most expensive blanking plates around.

I need to however balance the buy vs. my own time. If I can buy one somewhere I can spend more time cycling.

Thanks very much for all the help, I have contacted Ryno from Omicrom Designworks in Pretoria - ordering a couple of 3D printed ones at much less than the material cost for aluminium and time.

Just teasing. I quite enjoy making stuff like that with things I have laying around, and with my rudimentary hand tools.

I don't even have a garden never mind a garage full of tools now :(

Also will probably use CAD if I had to make my own, with my face in 3D on it
